These were the words I heard coming from the mouths of two very excited little boys!
Ok, I know I said I’d stay away for a bit – and I will. But I had class tonight and didn’t feel like doing anything work or school related when I got home!
Today we awoke to snowflakes flitting through the sky. So little snow in the air that you could actually see each individual snowflake.
Still the boys had that gleam in their eyes. That one that only little kids have the first snow of every season.
They pressed their faces against the patio doors, checking to see if there was any snow collecting. There MUST be enough somewhere to make a snowman – or at least a respectable snowball.
They asked if it would keep snowing. I assured them that Blizzard Bill said it would flurry all day but they shouldn’t expect a large amount.
They went out to play after school. They searched high and low for piles of snow. They worked hard at breaking the ice in the bird bath. Then the light shined brightly and they found snow to play in on the trampoline.
I enjoyed driving around town today listening to Christmas music watching the flurries. It put me in the Christmas spirit and made me smile. I couldn’t help but remember what it was like to be a little kid and enjoy that first snow with all of my being.
Happy December to all of you. May the remainder of this season be merry!
