Friday Finale

The Smile On Your Face – Allison Krauss

There are so many reasons for this song.

I begin with Allison Krauss – her voice haunts me.  She has a way of making me think.

The words to the song remind me of my boys.

They greet me with smiles when I walk in the door everyday.  The need me, they miss me.

They won’t leave me and wouldn’t ever let me leave them.  They count on me to return to them when the work day is through.

They give me the best hugs to let me know that they will always be my “pick-me-up” on those incredibly craptastic days.

They say “I love you mom” often.  But I don’t need to hear it to know that they do.  They hug me, snuggle me and give me that look of sheer joy when they see me.

There are days that I would love to trade them in.

Fortunately, I don’t know of a good spot to take them.

And because I don’t know where to drop them off I get the priviledge of keeping them.

So that on days like today I can share with everyone how much they mean to me!

About Brotherly Love

I am a mom, partner, teacher and a lover of life. I have two fabulous boys who define my life as I know it. One of my children has been diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder, Asperger's and anxiety disorder. I blog as much about him as I do about my life and the lives of my immediate family.
